Mentoring the Mentors

Mentoring for Coaches and Counsellors

You’re a coach, a counsellor, a mentor; a group or workshop leader, a health or personal carer; an inspirational speaker, a teacher, a healer or body therapist; an HR specialist, a top-of-the-upline, an unsticker of any kind of stuckness, and – what are you?

S-t-r-e-s-s-e-d! Because you’re one hair past a freckle to falling over through helping others move through their tricky, sticky patches, and you’re in need of a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in which you can:

let off steam

discuss a particularly hairy case

work through an issue triggered by your work

get an impartial view on the way forward with a client

share a personal gringe and groan without fear of reprisal!

Back in the day this kind of mentoring was called peer supervision and was a vital requirement, readily available for anyone working in the caring services. These days many of us work alone or in small co-operatives, and mentoring sessions are not naturally or formally built into our working structures and environment.

This is an aspect of my professional work which I’m delighted to be offering again.

I’ve been counselling and mentoring for upward of 20 years, having worked in mental health settings of various kinds, hospitals, hospices, private homes and complementary health clinics. These days I work in the warm and comfortable environment of my own home where you can relax, put your feet up, share – and drink tea!

If you’d like to make an appointment, just find me on the contact page, and we’ll arrange a meeting at your convenience. The kettle’s on!
